2024 Scholarship Recipients
Every year, APAHA awards scholarships to qualified applicants to ensure their continuing education and dedication to sharing knowledge about AAPI Heritage. Please join us to congratulate the following scholarship recipients. We encourage them develop into great leaders for our communities.
Anthony Zhang
H-E-B Scholarship Recipient
Anthony Zhang is interested in the intersection of engineering and medicine. He has interned at various research facilities at the Texas Medical Centers such as the Texas Heart Institute and Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). He will be attending Rice University this fall and will be majoring in electrical engineering and a minor in business.
Olive Norian
H-E-B Scholarship Recipient
Olive Norian plans to pursue Chemical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. Throughout her high school years, she has accumulated over 140 hours of volunteering through organizations including Youth Expanding Services, National Honor Society, and Service for Humanity.
Patrick Chen
Mariam Issa Community Service Scholarship Recipient
Patrick Chen is an intern at Flow Control Group, a KKR-owned company where he assists in marketing, data analysis, and operations across 90 brands in the FCG portfolio. He plans to attend the Canfield Business Honors Program at the University of Texas at Austin.
Kayla Nguyen
Mariam Issa Community Service Scholarship Recipient
Kayla Nguyen is pursuing both a high school diploma and an Associate in Arts degree simultaneously. Beyond her academics and community service, Kayla’s hobbies consist of trying new recipes, and enjoying the outdoors. She plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Economics.
Sidney Nguyen
Adriatico-Thadhani Scholarship Recipient
With eyes set on the future, Sidney aspires to achieve a Master's in Accountancy from the University of Houston. Sidney's ambition and forward-thinking nature are evident in her determination and various achievements. She also has aspirations of becoming a certified public accountant.
Chi Pham
APAHA Scholarship Recipient
Chi Pham is team captain of the Klein Forest Academic Decathlon team. He holds leadership positions in the Klein Forest AAPI Student Association and Speech & Debate Club. As Chi continues his interests in both humanities and STEM in college, he is excited to attend Rice University this fall.
Grace Sowon Park
APAHA Scholarship Recipient
Sowon Park interned at the MD Anderson Cancer center, where she learned to utilize genomic data science. She hopes to combine her interests in STEM, art, and service in the future. She will be attending Rice University this fall, majoring in bioengineering as part of a pre-dental pathway.
Antai Liu
APAHA Scholarship Recipient
Antai Liu is on track to pursue a major in computer science at UCLA, making him foes with his dad, who spends his free time perusing news articles, but friends with his mom, who is no stranger to the STEM academia.
Rianna Skaria
APAHA Scholarship Recipient
Rianna Skaria is pursuing Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin. As a National Merit Semifinalist and recipient of the 2024 NCWIT AiC High School Award National Honorable Mention, Rianna has demonstrated her academic prowess on a national scale.
Joshua Dantes
APAHA Scholarship Recipient
With goals of contributing to the upcoming aerospace innovation era, Joshua Dantas had taken on a NASA internship in which he got to do testing and coding of flight simulations. This upcoming fall semester, he is excited to attend Texas A&M’s elite engineering school on top of a finance minor.
