The Asian/Pacific American Heritage Association Internship Program:
The Asian/Pacific American Heritage Association (APAHA) is currently accepting resumes from qualified undergraduates to assist in executing our annual programs. Since 1992, APAHA's mission is to promote Asian/Pacific American culture/heritage through celebration events and educational outreach programs.
The Asian/Pacific American Heritage Association (APAHA) is pleased to offer internship positions for the Winter/Spring semesters. We are seeking bright, self-motivated, detail-oriented and mature individuals who are interested in learning about how a culturally-specific not-for-profit arts organization works, while developing research and other skills in the areas of community outreach, marketing/promotion, membership, and other aspects of cultural arts programming. Interns are treated like staff- they will have real responsibilities and assignments. We are looking for tech/internet saavy, communication-oriented people who are sincerely interested in the cultural arts and/or Houston's Asian/Pacific American cultural community.
Ability to work both as a team member and independently; detail oriented; excellent written and oral communication skills (esp. editing and proof-reading); ability to juggle multiple tasks; strong public relations skills; proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access database; Internet and technology savvy; knowledge of the Asian American community or the arts preferred but not required.
Office hours are from 10am to 6pm. Internships run during each academic semester at 15-20 hours per week.
